Step #1
First, download the koboldcpp.exe file from GitHub. Windows may warn against viruses but this is a common perception associated with open source software.
Step #2
Next, select the ggml format model that best suits your needs from the LLaMA, Alpaca, and Vicuna options. LLaMA is the original merged model from Meta with no training and uncensored. Alpaca is the most attractive model, pre-trained on data with instructions. I recommend GPT4xAlpaca. Vicuna is the same LLaMA, trained on dialogues with ChatGPT but with censorship.
Note: Models have varying parameters (7B, 13B, etc.) which determine its performance and demand. The more parameters, the better it will be but it will also require more processing power and RAM.
Once you have selected the model, download it using a torrent.
Step #3
After the download is completed, run koboldcpp.exe and specify the path to the model on the command line. Make sure the path does not contain any strange symbols and characters.
Once these steps are completed, ‘http://localhost:5001/’ will be displayed on the command line. Open this address in your browser and you can use your own ChatGPT for free.
AI chatbot is one of the most powerful artificial intelligence systems available, and it can be used for a variety of applications. From responding to customer support queries to playing interactive games with users, this technology can be used across a range of contexts. With the help of open source developers, the high cost and restrictive policies are now a thing of the past.
