Animoca Brands’ subsidiary AFL Mint drops the “Ripper Grabs” Series 1 NFT collection.
Coming out today, it features packs containing 25,000 spectacular highlights, iconic moments, and champion players of the 2022 Toyota AFL Premiership Season. The collectibles depict Bobby Hill, Joe Daniher, Toby Greene, and Mitch Georgiades, to name a few.
Collectors can choose from three pack types. The packs of two NFTs include mostly common cards and go for $19. Packs of five non-fungible tokens cost $49, while packs of eight NFTs are available for $79. Notably, the latter features 8% of deluxe collectibles and 2% of Genesis cards.
Users can purchase the “Ripper Grabs” Series 1 collectibles via MoonPay.
AFL Mint is a platform that hosts officially licensed Australian Football League NFTs. The marketplace currently works in beta and will be launched fully in 2023.
In August this year, an AFL collection dubbed “Mint Ripper Skipper” sold out in less than 12 hours. Such sports releases attract a lot of collectors’ attention and are a great tool for teams to connect with fans. In fact, several football leagues have issued NFT collections in the past year, including the German Bundesliga and the Scottish Professional Football League. Manchester City Football Club released NFTs in partnership with Puma, while FIFA launched an NFT platform dedicated to digital football collectibles.
