Adobe introduces new tools for creating in the Metaverse
Adobe just rolled out new tools for Metaverse development.
Adobe Systems Incorporated is a software company noted for providing programs for the creation and publication of various content. It currently offers more than 50 software apps, famously including Photoshop and Illustrator.
The company already partners with Coca-Cola, Epic Games, NVIDIA, NASCAR, and others to develop 3D content and immersive experiences.
“Smart brands are getting metaverse-ready by growing their 3D and immersive content creation capabilities. That means that creative artists with expertise in 3D have a wealth of opportunities. These innovations provide new superpowers to the rapidly growing number of creative people using Substance 3D,” said CPO and executive vice president of Adobe Creative Cloud, Scott Belsky.
In March this year, Adobe introduced Substance 3D, an ecosystem that allows creators to produce high-end 3D content to be used in the Metaverse and other applications.
On June 14, the company released multiple updates. These include a new “Substance 3D Materials SDK” which allows developers to write their plugins. “Substance Materials Plugin” for Photoshop, which helps users create texture and design variations, as well as 3D effects. “Substance 3D Plugin” for Unity will also allow artists to work on parametric materials inside the Unity engine, a platform for creating 2D and 3D games and experiences.
More than that, later this year Adobe plans to release a “Substance 3D Modeler,” software designed to incorporate an intuitive approach.
Adobe’s Research Innovations department is also working on new Metaverse experiences. 3D and AR tools will bring online information into the in-store shopping experience to help customers make better decisions, and give businesses the tools to adapt to consumers’ needs.
