Yuga Labs Teams Up with Design Office Zak Group to Publish Book of CryptoPunks
In Brief
Yuga Labs is collaborating with Zak Group to publish a book that documents the CryptoPunks project.
The book will include views from members of the CryptoPunks community about project.
SnowFro, Beeple, 6529, Deafbeef, and the Larva Labs founders will also contribute to the book.
Yuga Labs and the London-based design office Zak Group will collaborate to publish a CryptoPunks book.
The book will serve as the official documentation of the CryptoPunkst in one single catalog. Launched in 2017 by technologists Matt Hall and John Watkinson of Larva Labs, CryptoPunks is one of the pioneer NFT collections. Over the years, it has become a blue-chip project that has partnered with renowned jewellery brand Tiffany & Co to launch limited-edition pendants.
With the book, Yuga Labs and Zak Group aim to give voice to the passionate community. The book will share untold stories and experiences with the CryptoPunks project after it gained prominence in the NFT space.
“CryptoPunks is an iconic collection that has transcended crypto into broader culture,” said Greg Solano, Co-Founder of Yuga Labs. “This book is a catalog of that rich history, in the highest quality rendering, that we hope will serve as a source of inspiration for the Punks community and beyond.”
The book will detail all 10,000 pieces of CryptoPunks, and will also include contributions from prominent figures in web3, digital art, design, and tech, such as SnowFro, Beeple, 6529, Deafbeef, the Larva Labs founders themselves, and more. As a tribute to the vibrant community that helped shape the project, the book will also feature content from the Punks community Discord and Twitter.
“CryptoPunks is a collision between art, design, and the internet in the 21st century,” said Zak Kyes, Creative Director of Zak Group. “This book is an opportunity to give shape to culture in real-time. Together with Yuga Labs, we have invited artists, technologists, curators – and of course the Punks themselves – to create an all-in-one DIY user manual, archive, and catalogue raisonnè.”
Pre-sales will begin in fall 2023, with the finished book set to release this winter.
