Ethereum founder Vitalik Butern is set to join the Synthetic Biology Summit as a speaker. Held from Apr 1-2, the two-day explores the intersection of synthetic biology, network states, sustainable manufacturing, and blockchain technologies.
Buterin will join 11 other speakers from the education and biotech industries. They include Jennifer Holmgren, CEO of LanzaTech; Vincent Weisser, ecosystem chief of Molecule & VitaDAO, a community-owned collective funding early-stage longevity research; Albert Anis, the founder of ValleyDAO, a web3 community collectively financing and enabling democratic access to synthetic biology technologies; and more.
In January, VitaDAO raised $4.1 million in a strategic funding round joined by Pfizer Ventures. Balaji Srinivasan, General Partner at a16z and the former CTO of Coinbase, also invested in the round.
These industry experts will be covering a range of topics, from the basics of synthetic biology to its cutting-edge applications and future use in building biomanufacturing network states.
With a focus on real-world examples, the summit offers a unique opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of how synthetic biology and blockchain will shape the future of sustainable distributed manufacturing.
The summit is hosted by SynBioBeta, an innovation network for biological engineers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors who share a passion for using biology to build a better, more sustainable planet. The network’s founder and CEO John Cumbers will also speak at the summit.
The summit will be in Montenegro as part of Zuzalu, which calls itself the “world’s first popup mini-city.” Zuzalu is a coliving and nomadic living concept that runs from Mar 25 to May 25. Its core themes are ETH core infrastructure and development, Public Goods, ZK/Privacy, network states, health/biotech/longevity, and philosophy.
