The Decentral Art Pavilion in Venice held a luxury NFT and digital fashion exhibition
The Decentral Art Pavillion and the Venice Art Biennale hold an international NFT art exhibition from April 23 until June 20.
The event hosts over 200 NFT artworks. Last weekend (May 27-29), it exhibited Fashion and Luxury NFTs, featuring works by Dolce & Gabbana, The Fabricant, Tribute Brand, and the Institute of Digital Fashion, among others.
The D&G Genesi nine-piece NFT collection was personally designed by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and revealed in August 2021. The luxury artworks were both physical and digital. They included hand-made museum items: two versions of The Dress from a Dream, one in gold and one in silver; The Glass Suit, an emerald green embroidered suit; and two crowns: The Lion Crown and The Doge Crown, gold-plated gem silver crowns. The rest of the items were created in digital format only. These included the three jackets: The Velvet/Golden/Mosaic Impossible Jackets and The Impossible Tiara, which “features gems that can’t quite be found on Earth,” according to D&G. The collection was sold last year for 1,885 ETH (currently $3.6 million).
Vogue Portugal, in partnership with LightHouse Publishing, debuted in the Decentral Art Pavillion with its first NFT collection of three historical magazine covers. The auction will end on June 20.
The Fabricant, the decentralized digital fashion house, also showcased virtual clothing made for avatars to wear in the Metaverse. Last month, the brand raised $14 million to build a digital wardrobe for the virtual world.
“This engaging and lucid exhibition is the first anthological presentation of world-acclaimed NFT artworks, casting light on the spectacular culture around the NFT community while fostering artistic experiences that determine the social significance of digitization for future generations,” said Florencia S.M. Brück, the event’s curator.
