Rebecca Minkoff Drops a Fashion Collection for Roblox

American fashion brand Rebecca Minkoff releases a fashion collection for the Roblox metaverse.
The collection features twenty pieces, including purses, backpacks, earrings, bucket hats, hoodies, and sweaters. Most items are created in a minimalistic style in black and white colors. Two pieces, the “curb punk bag” and the “Julian Croissant” bag, are pink. Notably, most of the items from the digital collection were featured during Rebecca Minkoff’s New York Fashion Week show.
The prices range from 75 Robux for the “Dog-clip Earring” to 125 for the backpacks. At the moment of writing, one Robux costs $0.0125, meaning that fashion lovers have a chance to purchase virtual designer items for as little as $0.94. The collection is now available on the Roblox website.
The drop shows the growing trend of fashion brands releasing designs for the metaverse. It also allows Rebecca Minkoff to target a younger demographic of fashion-savvy digital natives.
It’s worth noting that this is not the designer’s first step into the metaverse space. In July 2022, the company partnered with the NFT project MAVION to release a non-fungible token collection. Dubbed “Unlockables,” the drop featured 55 NFTs that gave holders access to physical benefits, including a one-of-one bag by Rebecca Minkoff and limited-edition accessory items handmade by independent designers from Italy, Greece, and India. NFT owners also received two tickets to the designer’s New York Fashion Week show.
