Vimeo Introduces AI-Powered Tools for Effortless Video Production
In Brief
Vimeo revolutionizes video creation with the addition of a suite of AI tools.
Users can now create videos effortlessly and efficiently, thanks to AI-generated scripts, a built-in teleprompter, and automated editing capabilities.
The AI-powered features eliminate barriers such as lack of skills, time, or resources, enabling users to produce professional-quality videos.
Video hosting and sharing platform Vimeo is revolutionizing video creation and editing by embracing generative AI. The platform unveiled a suite of AI-powered tools to streamline video production processes. With these tools, users can effortlessly generate scripts, record footage using a built-in teleprompter, and eliminate disfluencies from their recordings.
Vimeo’s latest AI-powered features address the challenges of creating and editing videos by generating polished scripts instantly, providing a customizable teleprompter for a natural on-camera experience, easy content editing features, and a quick way to remove unwanted moments from videos. These tools empower users to create professional-quality videos without the need for extensive expertise or resources.
The platform further offers cinematic experiences accommodating 4K, 8K HDR, and Dolby Vision formats. Users can personalize their video player, handle security permissions, and navigate content, while intelligent automation features facilitate the creation of chapters, implementation of brand customization, and seamless optimization for SEO.
“AI in video opens up a new frontier of accessibility. Any individual or business now has the ability to produce engaging, professional content with no prior production experience, and within mere minutes. This is just the beginning of our new and integrated AI video strategy, but we believe this launch will be a game-changer for how companies should be communicating and connecting with distributed teams and customers,”
said Ashraf Alkarmi, chief product officer at Vimeo.
Alkarmi asserts that Vimeo is “only scratching the surface of what AI can accomplish.” He envisions a future where AI proficiency becomes essential rather than optional in video production. Alkarmi urges leaders to adapt promptly and enable their teams to work more efficiently, warning that failure to do so may result in being outpaced by competitors.
The AI tools will be available to users next month as part of Vimeo’s Standard and Pro plans, priced from $20 per month.
In addition to streamlining video creation through AI, picture creation and editing are also undergoing significant simplification. A few months ago, Adobe, which creates software applications with a creative design edge, announced AI-powered services called Firefly. Firefly enables content creators to input prompts and generate images, audio, vectors, videos, and 3D elements, as well as creative components such as brushes, color gradients, and video transformations.
Adobe also integrated generative AI technology called Generative Fill into Photoshop. This development introduces a suite of AI-powered features allowing users to enhance, extend, or remove image content seamlessly. By using a text prompt similar to those used in Dall-E and Midjourney, Photoshop enthusiasts can achieve realistic outcomes in seconds.
