Nestlé Launches “Cereals Metaclub” in Decentraland
In Brief
Nestlé launches a Decentraland-based experience dubbed “Cereals Metaclub.”
Visitors can enjoy sustainability-themed online challenges and play-to-earn games.
Players will have a chance to win Anghami Plus subscriptions and exclusive NFT wearables.
Nestlé is the next company to introduce its web3 marketing strategy. The brand is stepping into the metaverse with the launch of “Cereals Metaclub” on the virtual gaming platform Decentraland.
Nestlé Cereals Metaclub is a virtual breakfast experience developed by the Swiss multinational food and drinks giant. Created to bring up such an important topic as ecology, the experience features sustainability-themed online challenges and play-to-earn games.
Overall, the Decentraland-based location hosts ten unique virtual attractions. One of these is Anghami Lab Rooftop – a virtual space for visitors to dance. Anghami is a music streaming platform that focuses on Arabic music, featuring numerous playlists divided into genres like “Arabic Indie,” “Dance Arabia,” or “Egyptian Oldies.” The platform offers international soundtracks as well. The startup is one of the partners of the initiative, so Nestlé Cereals Metaclub players will have the possibility to win Anghami Plus subscriptions.
Surprises do not finish here, as players will also have the opportunity to claim or purchase limited-edition wearable NFTs. The experience is already live in the Decentraland.
Notably, all proceeds from NFT wearables sales will go to Rainforest Alliance, an international non-governmental organization that builds an alliance to protect forests, improve the livelihoods of farmers and forest communities, and promote their human rights.
“Our Nestlé Cereals Metaclub offers a unique channel to engage and connect with younger audiences, educate them on the topics of sustainability while taking them through an omnichannel brand experience,” said the Brand Manager of Cereal Partners Worldwide (Nestlé & General Mills), Middle East & North Africa, Bahaa Boulmona.
Decentraland hosts many traditional companies’ virtual experiences. In January this year, pet food brand Pedigree launched “Fosterverse” – a metaverse initiative that aims to remind users of pets that are looking for a rescue.
