FIFA taps Altered State Machine to bring football into the metaverse
The Web3 game will feature AI characters and prediction games
FIFA partners with Altered State Machine to launch a Web3 football-themed game, AI League: FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Edition.
Altered State Machine and its Futurverse ecosystem focus on artificial intelligence within the Web3 space. The company is the developer of “non-fungible token intelligence,” an innovative technology that injects life into avatars, making the metaverse a more dynamic place.
The unique experience starts with a prediction game that allows competitors to win prizes and get access to unlockable content. Individuals will have the opportunity to create smart artificial intelligence teams and compete against others. Altered State Machine will provide the upcoming FIFA game with AI characters that can be trained to predict the results.
Users that participate in the prediction game will be able to unlock four collectibles. The latter will turn into “smart players” in the FIFA World Cup AI League. It’s worth noting that players will have a chance to trade their digital characters as NFTs.
“The launch of our FIFA World Cup AI league is an exciting step towards our mission to lead casual gamers into the world of AI gaming in the Metaverse, and we are honored to be building the first Web3 game with FIFA,”
says the Co-Founder of Altered State Machine, Aaron McDonald.
The game takes off on November 20, the official start date of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
ASM is not the only company to launch a FIFA-themed tournament. Earlier this week, the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance introduced Football Fever, a set of NFT-backed challenges for sports fans, and Swiss watchmaker Hublot developed a virtual stadium in the Spatial metaverse.
