Pacsun opens store and auctions NFT in virtual festival Complexland 3.0
American clothing brand Pacsun launched a three-level virtual store in the Metaverse shopping festival Complexland 3.0 and will auction an NFT. The virtual festival takes place from May 25th until May 27th.
Shoppers will be able to navigate the festival with their customizable avatars and enter Pacsun’s online store and resale branch PS Reserve. Inside the stores, consumers can look through products, and once they find an item they are interested in, they will be redirected to Pacsun’s official website to make the final purchase.
The California-based apparel brand is an advocate of Metaverse, cryptocurrency, and blockchain technology. Last October, the brand made history by being the first fashion retailer to accept cryptocurrencies Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and Litecoin as payment methods. In April, the company made its debut in the Metaverse by opening an interactive virtual mall on Roblox called Pacworld.
Pacsun will also be auctioning an NFT inside Complexland’s NFT art gallery. The brand’s famous mall rat will be exclusively represented as an NFT for bidding. The highest bid will also receive a pair of physical sneakers from PS Reserve.
“It is undeniable that metaverse as a whole has an incredible network effort. Not only do consumers find community in the space, but we, as a brand, get to connect with them in an authentic way and ultimately grow our Pac Community in the both digital and physical worlds as well,” said Brie Olson, president of Pacsun.
