Off-White™ Will Accept Cryptocurrencies in Stores
Fashion brand Off-White™ has announced it will start accepting cryptocurrencies as a payment method in their flagship stores in Milan, Paris and London. The brand will accept Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), Ripple (XRP) and USD Coin (USDC).
The transactions will be processed with the LUNU POS terminal. LUNU POS works with various crypto wallets, from Binance Coin (BNB) to Tether (USDT), calculating the crypto-to-fiat rate of exchange at the moment of purchase.
The fashion streetwear brand was founded by Virgil Abloh in 2012 in Milan, under the name “PYREX VISION”, and has then changed its name to Off-White™. In few years the house’s pieces became the hottest items within the fashion luxury sphere thanks to Virgil’s innovative view and the rise of streetwear as a trend.
After New Guards Group, the first investor of Off-White™ retained the license in 2021, the majority stake went to LVMH. Later, on November 28th, Virgil Abloh passed away in Chicago at the age of 41. The brand is currently run by the designer’s team.
Among other fashion brands that accept crypto payments are Philipp Plein, which adopted crypto in August 2021, and luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot, introducing crypto payments in February 2022.
