HTC releases a Metaverse-focused smartphone Desire 22 Pro
Desire 22 Pro is HTC’s newest creation focused on AR, VR, and NFT functionality that hit the market on June 28. The pre-order price starts at around $450. The phone’s main functionality is to enable users to be part of Metaverse experiences by using their browsers to share and view digital art.
HTC is a Taiwanese electronics company that is confident in the Metaverse and is working towards developing its virtual world. The smartphone, a follow-up to 2021’s HTC Desire 21 Pro, is integrated with HTC’s open-source Metaverse called Viverse and can be paired with the Vive Flow VR headset, which is compatible with all Android phones.
As the Vive Flow VR headset works well with many smartphones, Android Authority wrote that “the Desire 22 Pro is no more of a ‘metaverse’ phone than Flow-supported devices like the Galaxy A32 5G and OnePlus Nord.”
Desire 22 Pro has 3D capabilities and IP67-level protection, a 6.6-inch 1080p display, a 32-megapixel front camera, and three rear cameras: a 64-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The smartphone provides high bandwidth, 8GB of RAM, and also has 128GB of storage, and a 4,520mAh battery. The smartphone comes in two colors: gold and silver.
“Designed for immersive experiences in a world where the physical, digital, and virtual interconnect – and with the capacity to run 2D and 3D content on extended reality (XR) devices,” the smartphone’s description reads.
According to Screen Rant, the phone also includes a digital wallet, allows crypto trading, and comes with a free NFT – a Renaissance cat collectible.
Last week, the crypto community was surprised by the news from Solana Labs – the blockchain company revealed its Web3 smartphone Saga, which embraces dApps, and crypto and NFT trading.
