Study Reveals Which Countries Embrace and Reject the Metaverse the Most

A recent study by CoinKickoff analyzed over 1.6 million tweets from various parts of the world to determine global attitudes towards the metaverse.
The study found that Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, the Philippines, Ukraine, Nigeria, and Indonesia, were largely supportive of the concept. Meanwhile, Ireland had the highest number of tweets against the metaverse.
In the US, Florida was found to be the most interested state, while Wyoming showed the highest level of enthusiasm.
CoinKickoff also created a comparison guide that compares the sizes of the metaverses to real world places.
A recent study of over a million tweets revealed a ranking of countries that either embrace or reject the concept of the metaverse. Vietnam was found to be the country with the most positive views towards the metaverse, with 56.8% of tweets originating from the country expressing support. On the other hand, Ireland had the highest number of tweets expressing opposition to the idea of virtual worlds.

The findings indicated that Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia, as well as Ukraine and Nigeria were largely supportive of the concept.
Ireland topped the list of nations with the highest number of tweets against the metaverse, with 14.4% of metaverse-related tweets originating from the country expressing negative views. Western nations have the strongest opposition to the metaverse, with Denmark, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada having the largest number of tweets expressing negative sentiments.
CoinKickoff also analyzed which U.S. states are most interested in and supportive of the metaverse. The research revealed that Floridians exhibit the highest level of curiosity about metaverses, with a rate of 670 searches per 1,000 individuals in the state. The states behind Florida included Nevada, Maryland, Georgia, and New York.
Wyoming displays the greatest level of enthusiasm for the metaverse, with 40.7% of metaverse-related tweets expressing positive sentiments. The U.S. states with the most favorable views of the metaverse are located in the western region, while half of the ten states with the least favorable views are located on the East Coast. North Dakota, however, has the most negative outlook on the metaverse, with 21.6% of its tweets expressing critical sentiments.
Metaverse Sizes Compared to Real-World Places
CoinKickoff also created a comparison guide of virtual spaces to real-world locations to provide perspective on the size of the largest metaverses. NFT Worlds is currently the largest and boasts 5 trillion m2 of tradable land, equal to 60% of Brazil’s territory. The most popular metaverse, The Sandbox, is 20% the size of Disney World in Florida, while Decentraland covers 40% of the iconic Central Park.
