In Brief
Arab Health is launching the Intelligent Health Pavilion and hosting the Future Health Summit to explore the metaverse in healthcare.
The healthcare metaverse market is expected to reach $5.37 billion by 2030.
Arab Health is sharing the latest advances in healthcare technology by launching the Intelligent Health Pavilion in the Dubai World Trade Center on January 30–February 2, 2023. Arab Health will also hold the Future Health Summit at the Museum of the Future (February 2, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.). One of the main focuses of the events is healthcare in the metaverse.
Arab Health, established 48 years ago, is the Middle East’s largest healthcare event hosted by Informa Markets. It provides a platform for global manufacturers and distributors to connect with the medical and scientific community in the subcontinent.
The Intelligent Health Pavilion partners with the Intelligent Health Association to offer visitors innovative healthcare experiences and sustainable technologies that improve patients’ quality of life. The Pavilion will have three demonstration rooms: a digital Intensive Care Unit, an intelligent Operating Room, and a revolutionary Emergency Room. There will also be a seminar theatre and a platform for exhibitors to showcase the latest healthcare technology.
“The healthcare industry has witnessed incredible changes in recent years, with technology and innovation the driving force behind how the industry is elevating patient care. These latest advancements are expected to increase further by utilizing the Metaverse and looking at how we interact with technology to utilize artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) to improve patient outcomes,”
said Ross Williams, exhibition director for Informa Markets.
The Future of Health Summit is an exclusive and immersive event for senior government officials and healthcare CEOs. The event is “looking to explore the future of health and delve deep into the amazing possibilities of healthcare in the metaverse.” The supporting governmental entities include the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, the Government of Dubai, the Dubai Health Authority, the Department of Health, and the Dubai Healthcare City Authority.
This year, the UAE launched the first hospital in the metaverse, which provides medical tourism services. Paralyzed patients can interact with doctors through metaverse avatars.
The medical world is still learning how to use technology to improve the industry and patients’ lives. According to Market Research Future, the healthcare market in the metaverse is forecasted to reach a value of $5.37 billion by 2030 (at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 48.3% from 2024 to 2030), with North America as the dominant region.
