Mercedes-AMG and FTX launch NFT collection
Earlier this week, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team and FTX — a trader-friendly exchange that allows buying and selling cryptocurrencies and NFTs — announced the launch of an NFT collection. Non-fungible tokens of Mercedes Benz artwork will be created on the exchange.
The first part of the drop, “Ticket Stubs” NFTs, will be free. There will be approximately 2,500 Ticket Stubs in total, and they’ll be given out at random to fans. According to rumors, the stubs are artistic representations of Mercedes F1 race tickets, each one dedicated to this season’s different races. The second NFT collection will be the 1,000-piece edition of Ticket Stubs, which will also be provided for free.
The third part of the drop will include 11 special NFTs. Additionally, the tokens will feature digital artwork created by multidisciplinary artist Mad Dog Jones, all picturing Mercedes-AMG Petronas cars.
These can be purchased exclusively during the FTX NFT marketplace auction. The proceeds will go to Ignite, a charity launched by Mercedes and driver Lewis Hamilton in 2021 that seeks to support diversity and inclusion in motorsports.
The auction begins May 6th on the FTX NFT marketplace. Right after that, the inauguration of Gran Premio begins in Miami, taking place on the weekend of May 7th-8th.
