Sartoshi abandoned his NFT project Mfers
The creator of the NFT collection Mfers Sartoshi has abandoned his project.
Mfers is a collection of 10,000 hand-drawn NFTs. The PFPs feature various traits such as type, smoke, hair, headphones, and others. In April, the collection hit an all-time high of $16,406.
Sartoshi is an anonymous individual, meme artist, and NFT collector. As readers might notice, they chose a pseudonym that references the pseudonym of Satoshi Nakamoto, the Bitcoin creator.
The artist came up with a creative way to exit the project. They teased the followers with tweets about something coming up on June 9. The community was expecting a drop, but the news they gave was an announcement about “the end of sartoshi,” which was accompanied by an NFT artwork.
A day later the creator’s Twitter page was gone. Sartoshi did not explain their decision. Nevertheless, they shared the vision for the future of the Mfers community in a blog post. For instance, the contract will go to the community. The royalty shares will become the following: 50% for Mfers multi-signature wallet, 25% of royalties for Sartoshi, 15% for west coastnft, and 10% for other Mfers developers.
25% of royalties from secondary sales going to the creator is a very high percentage for Web3. Fans of decentralization wonder why the anonymous artist would have done a move like that.
The official handle of Mfers Twitter account is now “unofficialmfers.”
At the moment of writing the floor price of the collection is 1.449 ETH (approximately $2.420), and the total volume of sales is 38.9K ETH.
