LVMH-owned Rimowa partners with RTFKT to release exclusive phygital luggage.
RTFKT is a creator-led organization acquired by sportswear giant Nike in December 2021. Earlier this month, the company announced several upcoming drops and teased their Twitter and Discord community with cryptic messages. Users had to collaborate and solve the puzzles in order to discover future releases.
The phygital collaboration with luggage brand Rimowa is one of them. The public draw and mint are scheduled for Thursday, October 27. The minting will be available for non-Clone X holders as well, unlike other RTFKT garment drops.
The cabin-size luggage will be forgeable and will feature a near-field communication chip link, meaning that holders will have the opportunity to track the physical item using augmented reality.
“RTFKT and RIMOWA collaborate to create the future of Metaverse world builders, merging the worlds of digital and physical craftsmanship,”
states the project’s website.
RTFKT focuses on forging the physical and digital worlds and is well known for its innovative experiments with AR clothing. In August this year, the brand released a collection of over sixty phygital items, including hoodies, t-shirts, sneakers, jackets, hats, and socks. Notably, the largest-to-date phygital collection is available for Clone X holders only.
The current floor price of the Clone X collection is 8.79 ETH (approximately $11,831 at the time of writing), with 236K ETH of volume traded.
