Pudgy Penguins NFT collection licenses Lil Pudgy plushes with PMI Toys
NFT collection Pudgy Penguins announces a partnership with PMI Toys, a 25-year-old company that has previously worked with entertainment giants Fortnite, Harry Potter, and Ninja Turtles.
According to a Twitter post, PMI Toys will develop the first extensive toy line of Pudgy Penguins collectibles. The partnership will bring Penguin fans a physical collection of Lil Pudgy plush toys.
The announcement tweet states:
“These collectibles, alongside our Pudgy Plushies, are only a sneak peek of the diverse line of toys… As we continue to bring the Pudgy Penguins to life, we are ecstatic to be at the forefront of IP utilization in Web3. Stay tuned for what’s next…”
Pudgy Penguins is a collection of 8,888 profile-picture-styled NFTs. Its current floor price is 3.15 ETH (approximately $4,060 at the time of writing), and 62.5K ETH of volume was traded.
It seems the change of management was a breath of fresh air the brand needed as the brand makes new announcements and sees spikes in prices. In April this year, the original Pudgy Penguins collection was sold to Luca Netz, a Los Angeles-based entrepreneur. He established a new team and advisory board, and the price of the Pudgy Penguin NFTs raised from 1 ETH to 3.5 ETH. In August, the collection ranked first on OpenSea, as a Pudgy Penguin NFT #6873 was sold for 400 ETH.
Apart from the main collection, the brand also features two additional collections, Lil Pudgys, and Pudgy Rods. The Lil Pudgys NFT collection includes 22,222 Penguin PFP-styled artworks. The floor price of the collection is currently 0.21 ETH (approximately $270 at the time of writing).
