The University of Pennsylvania offers Metaverse course starting this Fall
The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School is offering a six-week Metaverse course dubbed “Business in the Metaverse Economy.” The program is aimed at technology and business professionals.
“Business in the Metaverse Economy” offers six weeks of studies of 8 to 10 hours per week. Listeners will learn about the technology and the trends shaping the Metaverse, explore creative strategies, and analyze the market. The program includes immersive Metaverse experiences, case studies, and of course, networking events, so the students will have a chance to connect and collaborate during classes and “open office hours.”
The University of Pennsylvania partnered with tech-focused consulting firm Prism Group to develop the contents of the course.
“The Metaverse is a significant and broad phenomenon that is still poorly understood. We hope to equip business leaders, consultants, and entrepreneurs with an understanding of the impending opportunities the Metaverse brings, as well as the practical knowledge to build solutions of value,” said Professor Kevin Werbach of the Wharton School, the program’s academic director.
The program starts in September and costs $4,500. The enrollment BBC is currently open.
It’s worth noting that The University of Pennsylvania is the first Ivy League school to roll out a Metaverse study program. Among other schools that introduced Metaverse and crypto courses are the University of Tokyo and the University of Cincinnati.
