Polygon-powered QuickSwap Gaming Hub shifts its focus to fun and ownership instead of play-to-earn
In Brief
QuickSwap Gaming Hub offers gamers a wide selection of top Polygon games.
The gaming platform, created by Versa Games and QuickSwap, draws attention to digital asset ownership as one of the leading benefits of Web3 gaming.
QuickSwap Gaming Hub is moving beyond the play-to-earn narrative: The Polygon-based gaming platform argues that, first and foremost, web3 games should be fun. Secondly, digital asset ownership can add immense value to the gaming experience.
The gaming hub connects gamers with the top Polygon games in the market. It offers 192 games, of which 41 are free to play. Some highlights include Planet Mojo, Aavegotchi, Phantom Galaxies, Sunflower Land, and Sky Weaver. QuickSwap Gaming Hub was created by the web3 gaming platform Versa Games and the Polygon-based decentralized exchange QuickSwap.
Supported by Polygon Studios, Quickswap Gaming Hub offers low transaction fees and high speeds on a strong ecosystem through Polygon’s open and secure blockchain. Users can also receive liquidity support on QuickSwap.
QuickSwap Gaming Hub sees web3 gaming potential in digital asset ownership
There’s a common misunderstanding of blockchain gaming, as many believe it evolves around the play-to-earn mechanism. Players choose web3 games to earn some extra crypto and don’t associate them as much with fun and leisure. Blockchain games are also often misregarded as cryptocurrency trading. However, there’s so much more to web3 gaming than P2E.
The co-founder of QuickSwap, Roc Zacharias, said that one of the main benefits of blockchain gaming is digital asset ownership.
“I’ve been gaming since before Bitcoin even existed. I started out by buying and selling digital assets to industry legends like Brock Pierce. Now, I can only imagine how much more my friends and I could have benefited from the digital assets we collected in games if we’d been able to easily transfer them the way players can trade NFTs now.”
Zacharias stated.
Digital asset ownership can provide gamers with a more exciting gaming experience. Hours spent unlocking rare in-game items now can actually lead to true ownership with blockchain technology. Thus, instead of collecting items that only exist within a game and have no value outside of it, gamers can actually own digital assets, which hold value not only for them but for the entire web space.
Games should be fun to play, but when money is the focus, some part of fun and enjoyment is taken away. Profitability from assets collected in the game is only a bonus; “play-to-play” should be the focus, QuickSwap emphasized.
