peaq Integrates with Fetch.ai to Deploy AI Microagents on Polkadot Projects

In Brief

Developers building on peaq can now deploy Fetch.ai’s Microagents to automate various business processes.

The integration also Fetch.ai’s advanced framework to the wider Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem.

peaq’s sister chain, krest, will go live on Kusuma in the coming weeks.

Web3 network peaq has announced a new integration with Fetch.ai, a platform that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and automation for peer-to-peer applications. Through this integration, developers building on peaq can now use Fetch.ai’s Microagents to automate and optimize various business processes.

Microagents can act as intelligent digital representatives of devices, users, or businesses, making data-driven decisions on their behalf. For example, a Microagent can locate and book the best charging station for an electric vehicle owner without their involvement.

This collaboration between peaq and Fetch.ai is part of the Gaia-X 4FM moveID consortium, with the two projects working closely together. The integration is currently live on peaq’s testnet, with krest, peaq’s sister chain, set to launch on Kusama in the coming weeks.

Once krest is live, the integration will be available on the Kusama ecosystem and, later on, peaq’s mainnet on Polkadot. peaq and krest are built on Substrate, which makes it easy to connect to Polkadot and Kusama, enabling secure cross-chain transfers and access to an expanding support network.

“Democratizing abundance in the age of AI-powered automation is at the heart of peaq’s reason for existing in the first place,” says Leonard Dorlöchter, co-founder of peaq. “We expect AI to power more and more machines in the Economy of Things. With Fetch, we’re seeing the first example of the power of AI within the scope of the Economy of Things. Fetch is the go-to example right now of what’s possible at the intersection between Web3 and AI. This integration is a crucial step toward bringing AI-powered machines to the peaq ecosystem.”

This collaboration offers a wide range of potential use cases within the peaq ecosystem. For example, Microagents can connect drivers with optimal parking spots based on their preferences, with a Microagent also handling payment using peaq as the settlement layer. Other use cases include machine learning algorithms leveraging networks of edge devices, with token rewards for all participants, or selling data from connected sensors.

“We are thrilled to be bringing our AI and automation framework into the Polkadot and Kusama space with peaq,” says Maria Minaricova, Business Development Director at Fetch.ai. “peaq’s vision for a Web3 Economy of Things presents an opportunity to deploy artificial intelligence and decentralized automation to solve real-world problems.”

The integration is an expansion of the existing collaboration between peaq and Fetch.ai within the framework of the Gaia-X 4FM moveID project, which aims to develop a decentralized digital infrastructure for the future of connected mobility. Led by Bosch, the project involves several prominent industry names, including Continental, Airbus, and Denso, as well as leading Web3 projects.

In February, Fetch.ai and Bosch launched a new foundation and a $100 million grant program to be distributed to industrial AI projects. Last month, Fetch.ai raised $40 million to build decentralized machine-learning solutions.
