OpenAI, the research lab behind the viral artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT, introduces a ChatGPT app for Slack, the popular workplace messaging app.

The news was announced by Slack developer Salesforce. According to the announcement, the artificial intelligence chatbot will be used to “deliver instant conversation summaries, research tools, and writing assistance directly in Slack.” The features will help companies all over the world work in a more productive way. According to the press release, the new application will allow users to receive instant conversation summaries and provide writing assistance to draft messages, meeting notes, or status updates. In addition, OpenAI’s tools will enable users to find project or topic information faster and work more efficiently.

Notably, OpenAI is a longtime Slack customer. The company has been using the application to accelerate employee productivity, connect with customers, and support business growth.

“The ChatGPT app for Slack deeply integrates the power of OpenAI’s cutting-edge large language models into Slack’s conversational interface. There couldn’t be a more natural fit. This will give customers new superpowers by helping them tap the collective knowledge of their organization’s channel archives,”

said the Chief Product Officer at Slack, Noah Desai Weiss.

The tool is currently available in the beta version. Companies that wish to test it can now apply for the “ChatGPT app for Slack” waitlist on a dedicated webpage

Slack is not the only company to partner with the developers of the viral AI chatbot. In February this year, global consulting firm Bain & Company announced its collaboration with OpenAI. The company plans to distribute AI technology among its clients to improve customers’ business strategies and workflow.

Tech giant Microsoft added OpenAI’s tech into its internet browser Bing. In February, Opera also announced a collaboration with OpenAI for an AI-powered browser.
