omgKirby DAO and Channel Tres release a generative music NFT collection in partnership with OpenSea
Creator-oriented music community omgKirby DAO partners with rapper and producer Channel Tres and OpenSea to introduce a generative music NFT collection.
omgKirby DAO is the current leader in Web3 music production. The community has previously introduced a collection of 3,000 unique generative lo-fi beats that permit users to create music.
The new collection features 5,550 one-of-one songs turned NFTs. They were created as a fusion of omgKirby’s and Channel Tres’ beats and vocals. Every NFT includes lyrics, vocals, and production from Channel Tres, as well as transition, chorus, BPM, keys, intro, and outro by omgKirby.
NFT ownership grants holders access to master rights for the music, so users have the opportunity to create their soundtracks. omgKirby NFT holders can release music for personal use or mint it on OpenSea and bring it to Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and other streaming services.
It’s worth noting that the largest NFT marketplace, OpenSea, placed the collection on its homepage to attract as many users as possible. And it worked: At the time of writing, the colorful PFP-styled NFTs are almost sold out. The current floor price of the omgKirby and Channel Tres NFT collection is 0.07 ETH (approximately $91 at the moment of writing).
“Our collaboration with omgKirby is groundbreaking for music in web3, and we’re incredibly excited to partner with them on this drop. By bringing together innovative music composition with vocals from a world-class recording artist and stunning visual art, the team has pioneered an immersive experience like nothing we’ve seen before,”
said the VP of Business Development at OpenSea, Ryan Foutty.
Music is entering the Metaverse, and the omgKirby and Channel Tres collaboration is just one of the many examples of music NFTs launched this year. Late this August, American rapper Ja Rule launched exclusive singles as part of the “Black is Beautiful” NFT collection. Meanwhile, in July, Rappers Vic Mensa and Keyon Christ released their NFT single “Ying Yang Twins.”
