Yuga Labs reveals BAYC community council, are Bored Apes happy with the news?

Bored Ape Yacht Club’s parent company, Yuga Labs, announces the creation of a BAYC community council in an official blog post on Wednesday.
The council is composed of seven active and prolific BAYC NFT holders. Yuga mentioned that council members would look into collecting feedback from the community and would lead philanthropic matters. Council members will “help to create focused discussion, delegate responsibilities and provide a launchpad for creators and thinkers to collaborate with each other, to realize their Web3 dreams.”
With the creation of the community council, Yuga Labs is giving its holders an integral role in the project. It intends to keep the board autonomous so that members have the opportunity to propose new ideas at any time.
Members of the council will work together with Yuga to lead commercial community projects and organize meetups and charities.
The seven members of the council are the following: TheMiamiApe, beijingdou, 0xWave, negithenagi, 0xEthanDG, SeraStargirl, and peterjfang.
Although the method of how Yuga Labs selected the members is unclear, many users expressed two-sided opinions on the case. Some users stated that other BAYC holders deserved the membership more than the chosen ones, while others questioned if the council members would be permanent or whether they could change in the future.
Yuga Labs also disclosed that they are exploring similar needs for the company’s other NFT communities, such as CryptoPunks, Meebits, and Otherside.
Bored Ape Yacht Club is the second most popular collection in the NFT space. In September, Yuga Labs hired its first-ever Chief Gaming Officer, Spencer Tucker, who will supervise the development of Yuga Lab’s gaming projects. In June, an NFT specialist from the famous auction house Christie’s joined Yuga as brand lead for the top NFT collection, CryptoPunks.
