Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura to Present Keynote at Non Fungible Tokyo 2023 to Showcase Japan’s Commitment to Web3

His Special Keynote will provide insights on how Japan can leverage web3 for innovation and growth.
Deputy Director Waka Itagaki and politician Masaaki Taira will also deliver speeches, representing the government’s involvement in the event.
Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry Yasutoshi Nishimura will be speaking at the Non Fungible Tokyo 2023 conference on June 22. The event is organized by Japan Blockchain Week to promote Japan’s web3 community globally.
Nishimura’s attendance is a significant opportunity for the government to demonstrate its support and interest in the emerging web3 technologies and applications and foster dialogue and collaboration with the industry. Minister Nishimura has been involved in various initiatives related to economic and fiscal policy, social security reform, green transformation, and COVID-19 response. He will deliver a Special Keynote and is expected to share his insights and vision on how Japan can leverage web3 for innovation and growth.
Waka Itagaki, the Deputy Director of the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry, and Masaaki Taira, a Japanese politician serving in the House of Representatives, will join as distinguished governmental figures to deliver speeches at the event.
Other speakers at Non Fungible Tokyo this year include Sebastien Borget, co-founder of The Sandbox; Daisuke Iwase, CEO of Animoca Brands Japan; Tamate Naoyuki, producer of Square Enix; Gabby Dizon, co-Founder of Yield Guild Games; Gabriel Leydon CEO of Limit Break, and Jeffrey Zirlin, the co-founder of Sky Mavis.
Non Fungible Tokyo, the largest conference in Japan dedicated to NFTs and Web3, has evolved from the Tokyo Blockchain Game Conference (TBCC), which started in 2018 as the web3 industry’s pioneer. The conference aims to facilitate global discussions on implementing NFTs socially and in business, unlocking future possibilities. Some talks at the conference are in English, while others are in Japanese. Japanese sessions will be equipped with AI-generated English subtitles, while English sessions will have AI-generated Japanese subtitles.
This year, Japan Blockchain Week will witness over 700 speakers (including 200+ international speakers), participation from 100+ sponsor companies, and more than 100 community events. With an expected attendance of over 30,000 people from all over Japan, the event connects Japan with the rest of the world through web3. The three-week event began on June 18 and will end on July 9.
