Miley Cyrus registers Metaverse and NFT-related trademarks
American singer and actress Miley Cyrus has registered two Metaverse and NFT-related trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The announcement was shared by trademark attorney Mike Kondodis on his Twitter.
The celebrity has filed trademarks for “MILEY” and “MILEY CYRUS,” officially registered under serial numbers 97551201 and 97551195.
Cyrus plans to use the trademarks for clothing, energy drinks, and entertainment services. Additionally, the singer will reportedly use her name for the development of virtual currency management software, virtual clothing, footwear, and sports gear.
This is not the first Metaverse move made by Miley Cyrus. In May this year, luxury fashion brand Gucci introduced Gucci Town on Roblox, a virtual gaming world. In July, Cyrus became the first celebrity to be featured in a fashion-related marketing campaign inside Roblox. The actress promoted Flora, a new perfume from Gucci’s Beauty line.
Gucci continues expanding its Metaverse presence. As the brand attempts to attract wealthy cryptocurrency holders, the company introduced the option to pay in crypto in several U.S. stores. Customers can pay in Ethereum, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin, Shiba Inu, Dogecoin, and even ApeCoin in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Miami stores.
