Microsoft Reveals Over 50 AI Tools

Bing will be the default search experience on the viral AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT.

On Tuesday, May 23, Microsoft revealed over 50 AI-related updates during the Build Conference. As part of the early access program, more than 50 plugins from partners will be available for customers, including Adobe, Thomson Reuters, Atlassian, ServiceNow, Moveworks, and Mural.

During the event, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella showed how AI is already changing the future of work. In fact, tech giants Google and Microsoft are actively competing in the development of the best artificial intelligence integration possible. However, it seems like the AI race is just getting started.

In January this year, Microsoft said that it is working with ChatGPT developer OpenAI to speed up the development of artificial intelligence. In addition, the company started building a new, AI-powered Bing search engine and Edge browser.

The most intriguing aspect from Microsoft’s newly announced AI tools is that Bing will be the default search experience on the viral AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT. This way, the bot’s answers will be backed by the freshest web data, as Bing has access to the internet. Microsoft will adopt the same open plug-in standard used by OpenAI, enabling interoperability between ChatGPT and Microsoft’s copilot offerings.

The feature is already available for ChatGPT Plus subscribers. Other users will have the possibility to use the tool for free in the nearest future. Microsoft also announced it would provide additional support for plug-ins, including Expedia, Instacart, Klarna, Redfin, and Zillow.

More than that, Microsoft announced that Bing would be integrated into Windows Copilot, a new Copilot Stack with common extensibility, Azure AI Studio, and Microsoft Fabric, a new data analytics platform. So, developers will now be able to build plug-ins that work across both consumer and business mediums, including, but not limited to ChatGPT, Bing, Dynamics 365 Copilot, and Microsoft Copilot, on one platform.
