Meta Introduces AI-Powered Ad Tools: AI Sandbox and Meta Advantage
In Brief
Meta has launched AI Sandbox, a testing playground for advertisers to experiment with generative AI-powered ad tools that create variations of written text and image backgrounds for Facebook and Instagram ads.
A select group of advertisers will be invited to test the AI Sandbox, with access to more advertisers planned for July.
Meta has also unveiled AI-powered updates to Meta Advantage, including Performance Comparisons.
Meta has launched an innovative tool that promises to change how advertisers create content for social media. The company has announced the AI Sandbox, a testing playground for advertisers, to experiment with generative AI-powered ad tools that can create variations of written text and image backgrounds for Facebook or Instagram ads.
The AI Sandbox could revolutionize building ads and could improve campaign results. The announcement was made during a press event in New York, where Meta unveiled several new tools and services driven by artificial intelligence.
The company has been collaborating with a small group of advertisers on three AI Sandbox tools: text variation, background generation, and image cropping. Meta plans to expand access to more advertisers in July and integrate some features into general-purpose ad products later this year.
The social media giant has also unveiled multiple AI-powered updates to Meta Advantage, its range of automated tools and products that advertisers can use to enhance their campaigns. These updates include an automated performance comparison report, which the company has already started rolling out. In addition, Meta plans to introduce features in the upcoming months that aim to improve audience reach and promote dynamic video ads across Feeds, Stories, and Reels.
Meta’s report came on the heels of a major announcement from its top digital ads rival, Google. Just a day prior, Google introduced several new AI-powered tools and features, including Search Generative Experience, Immersive View for Maps, the “Magic Editor” in Google Photos, and its next-generation language model, PaLM 2.
