In Brief
Mastercard dropped a free multisensory Music Pass NFT that allows music to access exclusive web3 content and AI music tools in the Artist Accelerator Program.
Five artists from around the world have been invited to participate in the program.
Artists and fans will be using WarpSound’s AI technology as part of their creative process.
Mastercard dropped a free multisensory Mastercard Music Pass NFT on Wednesday to give music fans access to the company’s music-focused program, the Mastercard Artist Accelerator.
Once claimed, the NFT will allow music fans to follow five emerging artists on their journey to building a web3-powered brand, access creative web3 content, and make music in an AI-powered studio using WarpSound’s technology.
According to Mastercard, thousands of people have signed up for the program, with five artists invited to participate. Under the guidance of five expert mentors, the five artists from the US, England, Venezuela, and Nigeria will learn how to monetize their music using blockchain technology and build a community of fans. Both artists and fans will also learn how to use emerging AI tools as part of their creative process.
“The potential of web3 to deliver on its promise of opportunity and inclusion for all depends on whether people will embrace it. That’s why it’s important for trusted brands to experiment responsibly in the space and to push ourselves and our partners to harness new technologies in ways that are meaningful to people,”
Raja Rajamannar, Mastercard’s chief marketing & communications officer, wrote in a blog post.
Mastercard has been making moves in the web3 space since last year. The company has entered partnerships with notable web3 platforms such as Coinbase, Immutable X, The Sandbox, Mintable, Nifty Gateway, and MoonPay. Rajamannar said Mastercard hopes to help people, businesses, and its global partners better understand how blockchain and digital assets are used and how the company’s technology can support the web3 ecosystem.
“We also believe that Web3 can be a powerful tool in connecting people and building communities around shared universal passions. Like others, we’re exploring and experimenting with Web3 technology to extend our brand efforts – willing to fail fast but hoping to succeed. And we’re bringing others along on the journey,” he added.
