MARZ has created a program called Vanity that can de-age actors if the film calls for a younger version of them. Their current projects include the latest installment of the Spider-Man series, “Stranger Things”, “The Umbrella Academy” series, and the new Indiana Jones film. The Vanity program by MARZ uses advanced technology to de-age actors and make them look younger on screen. This technology has been used in several blockbuster movies and TV shows to enhance the visual appeal of the characters.
Vanity examines the actor’s face in five photos before work, using AI to create their “rejuvenated” mask. It then analyzes all of the footage and masks the appropriate actor automatically. If the program makes a mistake somewhere, the result can be manually edited. This process not only saves time but also ensures consistency in the actor’s appearance throughout the film. Additionally, it allows for creative flexibility as adjustments can be made to the mask as needed during post-production.
Vanity allows you to significantly reduce production costs. When actors are rejuvenated by people who “manually” process each frame, a five-second segment of the film can take up to 16 hours. Vanity will complete the same task in a matter of minutes. The program has reduced the budget necessary for the digital rejuvenation of actors by roughly half, from $1-5 million to $400,000-$500,000. With Vanity, filmmakers can allocate their budget to other aspects of the production process while achieving high-quality visual effects.
Marz promises that the next version of Vanity will be able to not only remove wrinkles but also change the anatomy of the face, rejuvenating the actor by at least 30 years. The company is also working on the LipDub program, which uses artificial intelligence to help actors lip-sync with text in any language. This could be extremely useful for all films that are dubbed, especially as a lot of non-English-speaking countries use dubbing extensively. These technological advancements in the film industry are expected to revolutionize how movies are made and improve the overall viewing experience for audiences worldwide. With the help of AI, actors will be able to deliver their lines flawlessly in any language, making films more accessible and inclusive.
- Wonder Studio is a cloud-based platform that employs artificial intelligence to automate the more time-consuming aspects of pre-production, such as location scouting and casting. It employs machine learning algorithms to generate a realistic CGI model of the person’s face and body movements, which can be seamlessly replaced in live video footage. The app could be used in film and television production, as well as virtual events and video conferencing.
