Dubai police to launch another NFT collection as almost 23 million people show interest
Dubai Police General Command released 150 NFTs in the second quarter of this year when over 7,000 people messaged asking for NFTs on the police’s social media platform. As the popular technology event, GITEX 2022, is taking place, Dubai’s police will present its second NFT drop.
According to Gulf News, around 22.9 million people globally were interested in the Dubai Police’s first NFT collection, which was free to mint. Most of the interest came from the UAE, Nigeria, India, the United States, and Saudi Arabia. Those who met the requirements were shortlisted in a draw, in which 150 lucky participants received digital collectibles at no cost.
“The total views of Dubai Police NFT-related news reached 589,173 views, of which 418,693 were on Twitter, 24,282 on Facebook, and 146,198 on Instagram,” Brigadier Al Razooqi said.
The NFTs represent the security, innovation, and values of communication of the UAE’s police department. Dubai police are the first government unit in the United Arab Emirates and the first police department worldwide to create digital collectibles.
The cosmopolitan city continues to go forward with advanced technology. For example, Dubai has recently launched a Metaverse strategy that would add $4 billion to the national economy and create over 40,000 new jobs in the Web3 department.
