Jack Daniels files three Metaverse trademarks
World-famous Tennessee whiskey brand Jack Daniels has filed three NFT and Metaverse-related trademarks. The news was shared by The United States Patent and Trademark Office attorney Mike Kondoudis on September 19.
Jack Daniels has applied for trademarks with plans to sell NFT-authenticated media that could include video, audio, artwork, and text related to beverages, barware, and even clothing. The trademarks also cover downloadable digital goods, which could be computer programs featuring beverages and other Jack Daniels branded items. More than that, the company has registered trademarks for downloadable computer software that provides information in the field of beverages, and software that could be used as a digital wallet.
From the trademarks, it seems like Jack Daniels plans to step into the Metaverse space and present Web3-related projects in the nearest future.
Several notable individuals and companies have filed Metaverse- and NFT-related trademarks with different purposes in the past few months. Luxury fashion brand Hermès plans to develop virtual currencies, virtual good marketplaces, virtual clothing, fashion shows, and NFTs.
Sony Music Entertainment has also applied for trademarks covering music, podcast production, artist management, marketing services, distribution, promotion, advertising, online entertainment, and audiovisual recordings.
At the beginning of September, singer and actress Miley Cyrus also registered Metaverse and NFT-related trademarks of her name. According to s Tweet shared by Mike Kondoudis, she plans to produce virtual clothing, entertainment services, drinks, and virtual currency management software.
