In Brief
Ledger partners with Japanese luxury streetwear brand Ambush for a limited-edition Ledger Stax case.
The accessory will make part of Ambush’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection.
Cryptocurrency hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger announced its partnership with Japanese luxury streetwear brand Ambush.
The companies are developing a case exclusively for the upcoming Ledger Stax wallet. The accessory is dubbed the “Liquid Metal Case.” The item, designed by Ambush’s co-founder and creative director, Yoon Ahn, gets inspiration from a water droplet. It features a silhouette designed in the form of a liquid metal. The case has a metallic covering and a padded black interior.
The item will be available for purchase as part of Ambush’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection. The companies have not shared additional details yet.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Ledger on this project. The liquid metal wallet is not only visually striking but also a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration. We can’t wait for people to see it and experience the unique features it has to offer,”
said the co-founder of Ambush, Yoon Ahn.
Ledger Stax was first announced in December 2022. The new model, developed by iPod creator Tony Fadell, features a curved E-Ink touchscreen with a large field view. In addition, it is personalizable: Users can put their NFTs on the screen. The cold storage device was supposed to come out in the first quarter of this year. However, due to the significant amount of attention and pre-orders, the company had to postpone the release. Individuals will reportedly be able to pre-order the device in the summer once the existing pre-orders are fulfilled.
Notably, this is not Ledger’s first partnership with a fashion brand. In January 2022, the cold wallet manufacturer introduced a collection of crypto wallet accessories in collaboration with the Italian luxury fashion brand Fendi. Ledger has also previously released limited-edition Ledger Nano X devices designed in the style of the NFT collection Deadfellaz. In addition, this January, the company dropped an exclusive set of devices created in collaboration with the World of Women NFT project.
