Learning how Destroy and Rebuild assembles NFTs
The main exhibitors’ floor at NFT.NYC teemed with blockchain projects, Web3 services, and–of course–copious NFT collections all vying for visitors’ attention. We stopped for a second to chat with representatives from Destroy and Rebuild, an avatar collection dropping on the Ethereum blockchain.
“We want to destroy the old ways, the traditional ways, and rebuild a new Web3 space with different communities,” Yui said.
That mission, and their collection, starts with six foundational species–each featuring re-imagined traits pulled from the most popular NFT collections to hit Web3 so far. “We put our design into it and then pieced it together to build a new NFT collection,” Yui said.
Minting this week, fans can get their own avatar from the Destroy and Rebuild collection by first surrendering some control. Rather than bidding on or buying a specific avatar, the project’s slot machine assembles your character before your very eyes from randomized attributes including headwear, eyewear, mouth, and body.
Check out our interview to see the machine in motion, and stay tuned for more constructions from Destroy and Rebuild!
