Johnnie Walker partners with BlockBar and Vayner3 for exclusive “ghost” whiskey NFT release
Johnnie Walker partners with liquor NFT marketplace BlockBar and Vayner3, Gary Vaynerchuk’s Web3 consultancy agency.
Johnnie Walker, which currently belongs to the global beverage manufacturing company Diageo, has introduced a scotch whiskey set created especially for BlockBar.
The liquor set includes the rarest whiskies from Johnnie Walker’s reserves. Lucky holders will have a chance to own beverages from “ghost” distilleries that no longer exist. Among the selected liquors is Grain Whisky from Port Dundas, a distillery that was built in 1811 and closed in 2010. The collection also features whiskies from Brora and Cambus distilleries, along with rare single malts.
The NFT collection features 75 Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Port Dundas sets. Each bottle is accompanied by “Ghost & Rare” NFT artworks created for BlockBar by generative AI artist Dr. Ivona Tautkute-Rustecka.
The sets grant holders access to redeemable Blue Label Ghost and Rare Port Dundas bottles and several additional utilities. For instance, owners will have the opportunity to talk with Johnnie Walker’s master blender Dr. Emma Walker and artist Ivona Tau.
“Port Dundas was, in its day, one of the finest Grain Whisky distilleries in the world and the rare expressions that we have chosen from our reserves are some of the most distinctive it has ever produced – their slow maturation allowing their sweet and delicate Grain character to blossom,”
said Johnnie Walker Master Blender, Dr. Emma Walker.
Johnnie Walker will continue supporting IFundWomen by providing grants to women-owned businesses.
The series goes live on September 9 at 4 PM CET and will be available in a first come, first serve mode. The original primary market price is 0.49 ETH (approximately $770 at the time of writing). Select NFT holders will get early access to the collection.
This is not the first collaboration between Johnnie Walker and Gary Vee as they have already released another NFT collection earlier this year.
