FIFA, Ticketmaster, and The Charles Edison Fund File Web3 and AI Trademark Applications

FIFA, Ticketmaster, and The Charles Edison are among the latest companies to file metaverse, NFT, and AI trademark applications.
FIFA reportedly plans to release sports, virtual reality gaming, and personal training services, while Ticketmaster intents to issue crypto collectibles and develop an NFT marketplace.
The Charles Edison Fund has filed a metaverse and artificial intelligence trademark application for Thomas A. Edison’s signature. The Fund plans to release virtual computers, games, and automobiles.
FIFA, Ticketmaster, and The Charles Edison Fund are the latest companies to file AI, NFT, and metaverse trademark applications. The United States Patent and Trademark Office licensed trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis shared the news on Twitter.
According to Kondoudis’s tweet, the International Association Football Federation filed nine metaverse trademark applications for its “WE ARE” campaign. The organization reportedly plans to release sports, virtual reality gaming, and personal training services. In addition, FIFA will provide online non-downloadable virtual footwear, clothing, headwear, eyewear, bags, sports bags, backpacks, and sports equipment for use in virtual environments. Lastly, fans will have the possibility to use entertainment services and view sports events.
On a side note, in July 2022, FIFA filed a metaverse trademark application for the World Cup 2026.
Global entertainment company Live Nation Entertainment has filed an NFT and web3-related trademark application for its ticket sales and distribution platform Ticketmaster. The platform will reportedly issue crypto collectibles and develop an NFT marketplace. In addition, Ticketmaster plans to enable transactions and registry services using blockchain technology for digital collectibles featuring photos, images, artwork, videos, games, and virtual experiences in the field of arts, entertainment, sports, and popular culture.
It’s worth noting that in November 2022, Ticketmaster filed an NFT trademark application to issue non-fungible tokens.
The Charles Edison Fund has filed a metaverse and artificial intelligence trademark application for Thomas A. Edison’s signature. The Fund reportedly plans to release virtual computers, games, and automobiles. In addition, it will issue scientific and electronic virtual goods authenticated by non-fungible tokens. The application also claims plans for virtual fundraising services and online retail store services focused on selling virtual goods. Lastly, The Charles Edison Fund will develop software and applications using AI for entertainment, retail, education, and communications.
Among the other noted companies that have recently filed metaverse and NFT trademark applications are BBC’s Doctor Who, The Premier League, and Swarovski.
