AB de Villiers will launch a cricket blockchain game
Cricket legend Abraham Benjamin de Villiers announced the future launch of a play-and-earn cricket game on the blockchain.
AB de Villiers, aka Mr. 360, is a former international cricketer. In 15 years of his career, Villiers was named the ICC ODI Player of the Year three times. The player is not new to the NFT space, either. Just this year, he has participated in NFT projects like Rebel Bots, DeRace, and Art Against War.
AB de Villiers partners with Myria Games to develop the mobile cricket game. Myria is a gaming ecosystem powered by Myria’s Ethereum L2 scaling solution, and the applications are based on this technology. Myria has already had some experience in developing blockchain games, with titles like Metakart, Metarush, Blockroyale, and Starstrike Legends in their portfolio.
“It’s always been about cricket. It’s always been about entertaining the crowds. I’m constantly looking for ways to change the game, and building my blockchain-enabled cricket game on the Myria platform is the next step for me,” said AB de Villiers.
The sides plan to launch the game in Q2 2023 on Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Fans can now register on Myria’s website for updates. By the way, the registration allows users to win exclusive AB de Villiers NFTs.
