Kaito AI Raises $5.3M in Seed Funding for ChatGPT-powered Crypto Search Engine

Kaito, a crypto search engine that leverages AI technologies, has raised $5.3 million in seed funding, per a TechCrunch report. The round is joined by Sequoia Capital, Jane Street, Mirana Ventures, Folius Ventures, Alpha Lab Capital, DWeb3 Capital, amongst others.
Kaito was founded by ex money-managers at Citadel, AI engineering leaders from Silicon Valley, researchers with academic backgrounds, and seasoned blockchain developers. The platform’s founder and CEO Yu Hu spent a decade in traditional finance before entering the crypto world in 2017.
The idea for Kaito came when Yu Hu noticed that information was fragmented in the crypto space and wanted to create a unified platform for people to search for crypto information. Kaito has developed two products: one for institutions and one for individuals. The seed funding will be used to scale the Kaito team and accelerate product development.
To tackle the problem of information overload and fragmentation across numerous channels, Kaito’s MetaSearch enables users to search across the entire crypto landscape with just one click, including sources such as Twitter, Discord, governance forums, on-chain dashboards, Medium, Mirror, news, research, transcripts, among others.
The company extensively leverages AI to optimize its products through ranking, topic mining, personalization, speech-to-text transcription, and Al-generated content. Kaito is also integrating with ChatGPT to enhance the search experience for the crypto community.
“Over the past 12 months, we have built one of the most extensive information databases in crypto. By combining this database and our in-house AI technologies with the advanced language models of ChatGPT, we aim to offer a far superior search experience,” Kaito tweeted.
Kaito’s MetaSearch Institutional is now available for a free trial. Meanwhile, individual crypto users can sign up for the waitlist for early access to its upcoming ChatGPT-powered crypto search engine.
