Madonna joins the World of Women NFT community and will perform at the WoW party
Madonna made her first NFT purchase in March when she acquired a Bored Ape. Now, the pop star changed her Twitter profile picture to a World of Women NFT and confirmed her appearance at the WoW event next week.
The celebrity purchased World of Women # 574 for 5.9 ETH (57% higher than the floor price) a month ago via MoonPay. The NFT has rare features, including a facial expression, a lollipop hairstyle, a golden flakes necklace, pearl earrings, and a rose tattoo.
World of Women is a promoter of inclusivity and equal opportunity. On June 23, WoW is hosting a Pride NYC party, where Madonna is going to perform. One of the sponsors of the events is the Sandbox Metaverse, which funded the WoW foundation with $25 million in March. WoW and WoWG NFT holders can obtain the event ticket for free through Tokenproof. The party takes place at the same time as NFT NYC – the annual NFT conference in Times Square, New York.
Madonna entered the NFT world very suddenly and is quite active. The pop icon collaborated with digital artist Beeple and digital art market SuperRare last month to create an NFT collection of her naked avatar giving birth to nature. The three NFTs are videos that depict “a different form of birth in our contemporary world.”
Billboard partnered with World of Women on NFT covers for the magazine to celebrate successful women in the music industry. While the first pop star on the cover was Christina Aguilera, the second digital collectible represented Madonna.
