Australian Zoo launches an NFT collection to support wildlife
Australia Zoo is ready to drop its first NFT collection to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the “Wildlife Warriors” project.
The first of the four drops features the Australian Saltwater Crocodile, called the “Warrior Croc.” The collection is inspired by Steve Irwin (1962-2006), aka “The Crocodile Hunter.” He was a lover of misunderstood species and dreamt of protecting wildlife.
The “Warrior Croc” collection includes 2,000 unique NFT characters with Saltwater Crocodile traits. The primary sales price for an NFT is AUD 50 ($36).
NFT holders will be granted access to an online community of like-minded lovers of wildlife. Additionally, the Australia Zoo has special visits and surprises ready for the participants.
The Wildlife Warriors collection aims to raise funds to save the lives of endangered species and injured animals. 100% of funds from primary sales will go to the Australia Zoo’s sustainability practices. For example, the zoo aims to tag and track five crocodiles in the Wenlock River.
The main sale begins June 14 at 7 PM AEST. Individuals can join the Allow List on the project’s official website today.
“Warrior Croc” is the first drop of the Australia Zoo series. Individuals can expect four other animal collectible collections in the future. Worth noting: Only holders of the first four drops will have access to the fifth collection.
