Lamborghini-backed racing team will certify car parts with NFTs
Former racing champion Vincenzo Sospiri has announced the partnership with Go2NFT and blockchain platform Skey Network. The companies will launch a special program to certify parts of racing cars using non-fungible token technology.
Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR) is a GT racing team backed by the motorsport department of luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini. The partnership with Estonia-based NFT platform Go2NFT will permit users to generate non-fungible tokens and secure the originality of products.
“This also brings great responsibility – to ensure that we can securely authenticate and audit every part of our racing fleet to monitor performance and ensure provenance. We are excited to pilot with Go2NFT and the renowned team at Skey Network to build NFT certification across our cars and other products to ensure we maintain the highest standards of quality,” said Sospiri.
Vincenzo Sospiri Racing also plans to expand the certification program to other products, including official merchandise.
“We believe that NFT utility can help create more trust and transparency for brands and their fans. This project with VSR is just the start of many such co-operations for beloved brands across the globe,” said the Chief Business Officer at Go2NFT, Boris Ejsymont.
Among other car manufacturers that got into the NFT space are Corvette, Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsche, Aston Martin, and Mercedes. Well-known companies continue the adoption of blockchain despite the current bear market.
