Forever 21 and Barbie Partner for Exclusive Roblox Wearables
In Brief
Virtual Brand Group has partnered with Mattel’s Barbie brand and Forever 21 to launch an exclusive AI-designed virtual fashion collection for the Roblox metaverse.
Mattel’s Barbie and fashion company Forever 21 partner with LA-based web3 studio Virtual Brand Group to bring the two companies into Roblox. Together, they launch an exclusive artificial intelligence-designed virtual fashion collection for Roblox users.
Virtual Brand Group worked with some of the best virtual fashion designers to create the collection, including Roblox creator Lovespunn. The outfits are inspired by Forever 21’s in-store selection, but they will also have metaverse-inspired designs. There will be colorful summer-themed formal and streetwear lines, each with radical fabric combinations. Notably, the release includes free-to-claim metaverse surprises.
“AI is a tool that our creators use, and it inspires them to look at digital fashion in new ways. The No. 1 design factor is HI, or human intelligence, and that is supplemented by other tools like artificial intelligence,” said the CEO and founder of VBG, Justin Hochberg.
Forever 21 and Barbie’s collaboration encompasses more than just digital items; the accompanying physical collection includes 76 in-store items, such as logo tees, sweatshirts, swimwear, sleepwear, denim shorts, vests, and jackets. There will be a variety of fashion styles that feature Barbie’s well-known pink shade and grey accents, in sizes ranging from XS to XL. Prices for in-store items will vary between $19.99 and $59.99.
