Accessory brand Vera Bradley launches an NFT collection and a Metaverse project

Woman-led lifestyle and accessory brand Vera Bradley launches an NFT collection to celebrate the 40-year anniversary of the company’s establishment.

The debut NFT collection, named “Heritage Pass,” features 440 non-fungible tokens of the brand’s signature “Jilly” bag. Four hundred NFTs are already available for purchase on Vera Bradley’s website. Notably, NFT Pass holders will have the possibility to redeem the NFTs for IRL bags. Speaking of which, the “Jilly” bag comes in four colorful print designs.

One Heritage Pass NFT goes for $82 (0.045 ETH), which is similar to the retail price of an original Jilly bag. Customers have the option to pay either in ETH or USD.

Additionally, NFTs grant early adopters access to the pre-sale of another collection—“The 1982 Collection.” Supporting National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it will feature generated artworks of the original Vera Bradley prints.

“The 1982 Collection” comes on October 1 and will be available for general sales starting from October 3. It’s worth noting that all proceeds from primary NFT sales will go to The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.

Along with the NFT collections, the brand introduces “The World of Vera Bradley,” a Metaverse concept that aims to merge the physical and digital worlds. The project will provide users with limited-edition fashion items and exclusive giveaways.

“With the launch of the World of Vera Bradley and our first NFT collections, we will create an authentic and connected community of digital asset holders through innovation, vision, and a consumer-first approach. This is another experience to strengthen Vera Bradley’s sisterhood, utilizing Web3 and fundraising for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer,”

said the VP of Marketing at Vera Bradley, Jennifer Bova.

The world of fashion is showing increasing interest in the NFTs and the metaverse, and Vera Bradley is just one of the many brands that have recently dropped their NFTs. Luxury fashion brand Hermes has announced the upcoming launch of its first NFT as well as an entire metaverse experience. In May, Dolce & Gabbana presented its nine-piece D&G Genesi NFT collection at the Decentral Art Pavillion and the Venice Art Biennale.
