National Lampoon introduces a comedy Web3 studio and a debut NFT collection, coming in October
Comedy brand National Lampoon steps into the Web3 space with its debut NFT collection. Dubbed “Poison Pill,” it is set to come out on October 26.
The collection will feature a total of 4,669 Poison Pill NFTs that will grant holders full access to exclusive National Lampoon content, IRL events, future airdrops, and more.
Additionally to the NFTs, National Lampoon plans to open a creator-first Web3 studio, which will incubate and raise comedy writers of the next generation. The brand will partner with Mason Eways of LBI Entertainment to manage the collaborations across comedy and literary talent.
It’s worth noting that the project’s Board of Advisors is filled out by renowned Web3 experts. Among the participants are Jimmy McNelis, the founder of nft42, Jeremy Drane, the co-founder of Monax Labs and Nifty’s, Cameron Moulène of Non-Fungible Films, and the founder of Project Venkman Gavin Gillas. The National Lampoon Web3 team is also expanded by producers Raj Singh and Kevin Frakes, as well as Web3 investor Harsharn Singh.
“We are big believers in the long-term potential of blockchain. The Poison Pill, which will be an all-access pass for avid fans, creators, and early adopters for what we create in Web3 spanning the written word, to filmed content,”
said Harsharn Singh.
National Lampoon is a studio founded by four Harvard students more than fifty years ago. Born as a spinoff of the Harvard Lampoon, it has changed the American sense of humor and comedy thanks to its signature funny and absurdist style.
