Domino’s and Microsoft Team Up to Supercharge Pizza Ordering with Generative AI
In Brief
Domino’s has joined forces with Microsoft to leverage generative AI and Azure OpenAI for enhancing pizza ordering and store operations.
The goal is to empower store managers and revolutionize customer experiences by simplifying processes and dedicating more time to customer service.
The global pizza giant Domino’s has partnered with Microsoft to revolutionize customer experience and store operations by leveraging generative AI and cloud computing.
Microsoft, as the primary cloud provider, has already been working alongside Domino’s to harness data and AI capabilities, making store operations more efficient and intelligent.
The partnership has now led to a generative AI assistant, powered by Azure OpenAI, to help store managers with tasks like inventory, ordering and scheduling.
Domino’s intention is to create a generative AI assistant to enhance pizza preparation and quality control through advanced predictive tools. The primary objective is to enable store managers to allocate more of their time to improving team member experiences and providing better customer service, as stated by Domino’s.
Domino’s and Microsoft will create an Innovation Lab, which will unite leaders from both companies with top-tier engineers to speed up the development of innovative store and ordering solutions, ensuring Domino’s remains at the forefront of technology. Both entities claim they are dedicated to ethical AI practices safeguarding customer data and privacy.
Kelly Garcia, Domino’s Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, expressed excitement about co-innovating with Microsoft, using Azure AI technology to simplify processes and create consistent and engaging ordering experiences.
“Our collaboration over the next five years will help us serve millions of customers with consistent and engaging ordering experiences, while supporting our corporate stores, franchisees, and their respective team members with tools to make store operations more efficient and reliable,”
Garcia said.
The collaboration between Domino’s and Microsoft, powered by the Microsoft Cloud, aims to deliver an AI-enhanced and connected experience, fostering loyalty and engagement among millions of customers, franchisees and employees.
The pizza maker anticipates piloting generative AI-powered solutions to stores and customers in the coming six months, marking a significant step toward the future of pizza ordering and store operations.
