Decentraland announces the return of the Metaverse Fashion Week
In Brief
Decentraland will host the second edition of the Metaverse Fashion Week on March 28-31
Brands can apply through a dedicated form
The Metaverse Fashion Week is coming back with a 2023 edition. The virtual event, themed “Future Heritage,” will be held from March 28 to 31.
The virtual Fashion Week will take place in Decentraland’s Luxury Fashion District. Along with the shows, the venue will also host a special experience developed by Miami Fashion Week.
The participants of the 2023 edition will be chosen by the advisory team put together by Decentraland. Among the experts are digital fashion house The Fabricant, House of Web3, Institute of Digital Fashion, and Fashion3 by MAD Global. Brands can apply through a dedicated form. Participants will be announced in January.
In addition, NFT marketplace Unxd, which focuses on luxury fashion, will become the curator of the event. Unxd has previously developed NFT collections for Italian luxury fashion brand Dolce&Gabbana and fine jewelry and watch brand Jacob&Co.
“The metaverse represents an obvious use case for digital fashion. As the metaverse develops, users are valuing digital merchandise at the same or higher value than physical goods. We are pleased to see the return of Metaverse Fashion Week and the ongoing successful growth of Metaverse Group,”
said the CEO of Tokens.com and Executive Chairman of Metaverse Group, Andrew Kiguel.
Decentraland Metaverse Fashion Week 2022, which took place in March, saw the participation of many well-known companies, including Tommy Hilfiger, Paco Rabanne, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce&Gabbana, and Selfridges.
However, in 2023 we might expect the presence of both noted traditional companies and native Web3 brands. Decentraland might even opt for showcasing looks by less-known digital-native companies, as the advisory board is built from digital fashion experts.
