Zalando Announces a ChatGPT-Powered Fashion Assistant; Beta Launches in Spring
In Brief
Zalando has announced its upcoming ChatGPT-powered fashion assistant.
The beta version will be available in spring for users from Germany, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Austria.
German online fashion and beauty retailer Zalando has announced its new ChatGPT-powered fashion assistant.
The innovative technology will enable customers to browse Zalando’s items more intuitively. Individuals will be able to ask questions using their own words, thus helping the platform find the right items from its vast assortment. For example, a client might ask what they could wear for a wedding in Santorini in July, and Zalando will provide a list of clothing suitable for a formal event in summer.
The first beta version is expected to launch in spring in English and German. The feature will first be available to a selected group of users based in Germany, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Austria.
It’s worth noting that Zalando also plans to introduce a fashion and beauty advice or outfit creation feature. In addition, in the future, the platform will enhance the shopping experience with customer preferences, such as favorite brands and products available in users’ sizes.
“This is just the beginning; we are committed to understanding our customers’ needs and preferences even better, and we are eager to explore the potential that ChatGPT can bring to their shopping journey. As we continue testing and introducing new solutions, our focus remains on learning how our customers want to interact with our fashion assistant to provide them with the best possible experience,”
said the VP of Personalization and Recommendation at Zalando, Tian Su.
Artificial intelligence-powered tools are changing the way we live and work. Innovative features, such as Zalando’s recommendation assistant, will enable stylists and personal shoppers to find the necessary clothing for their clients in less time.
As AI technology continues to advance, we can expect to see more retailers adopting similar solutions to deliver highly personalized shopping experiences. Earlier this week, Italian luxury fashion brand Zegna announced the launch of its AI-powered recommendation feature, which suggests clothing items and can create up to 49 billion potential outfit combinations.
