Web3Auth and Google Cloud Unveil Firebase Extension for Web3 Onboarding
In Brief
Web3Auth and Google Cloud have introduced a Firebase extension to simplify user onboarding for businesses, eliminating the need for seedphrases and making the transition to Web3 smoother.
The extension offers two key benefits: easier access to user data for profiling and demographic analysis and the secure generation of public-private key pairs for self-custodial Web3 wallets.
Web3Auth has partnered with Google Cloud to introduce an innovative Firebase extension. The collaboration aims to simplify user onboarding for various businesses, including decentralized apps and enterprises, by removing the need for seedphrases. The company claims that the extension makes transitioning to Web3 smoother.
Web3Auth Firebase plans to address the long standing challenge of introducing users to Web3, which is unfamiliar to many Web2 companies and applications. Businesses can now gain access to essential user information such as email addresses, full names, public Ethereum wallet addresses, and UIDs within the same database, simplifying user profiling and demographic analysis.
The extension employs Web3Auth’s multi-party computation (MPC) to securely generate public-private key pairs, enabling users to own fully self-custodial Web3 wallets with familiar logins like email and password, social identity providers (Google, Apple, Facebook, Twitter, GitHub), phone number authentication, and custom auth system integrations.
Moreover, the company asserts that Google Cloud’s assistance guarantees that user logins meet stringent global latency standards, staying under the 1.5-second threshold required for enterprise-level applications.
The initiative also aims to make it easier for developers to conduct AirDrops and NFT drops. Web3Auth claims that developers would no longer have to create custom processes to find and store wallet addresses. Instead, by simply clicking a few buttons and making minor adjustments, user information and wallet addresses can now be automatically saved in the database. This boosts efficiency and improves the user experience.
Furthermore, the company said that as more businesses adopt Web3 for loyalty programs, the utility of Web3Auth becomes apparent. Collaborations demonstrate how loyalty programs can enhance user engagement and value.
Blockchain-based wallets play a key role in enabling Web3 interactions and promoting compatibility between various products and brands in the corporate landscape.
For enterprises and dApp developers looking to bring more users into Web3, the Web3Auth Firebase extension aims to promote Web3 adoption via its Firebase extension.
