BAYC-themed Bored&Hungry restaurant still accepts crypto
In the past few days, rumors have swirled in crypto Twitter that the NFT-backed restaurant Bored & Hungry will stop accepting cryptocurrencies as a form of payment. The restaurant’s owner Andy Nguyen said that this was, unequivocally, “fake news.”
Andy Nguyen opened Bored & Hungry in April 2022. The Bored Ape Yacht Club-themed 1,700-square-foot restaurant is located in Long Beach, California. Nguyen holds a Bored Ape #6184 and two Mutant Apes, which he uses for branding and marketing purposes.
Last week the media reported that Bored & Hungry would stop accepting crypto because of the bear market. The entrepreneur refuted the news, posting several tweets and Instagram stories.
“Stop with the fake news! Why would we not accept crypto in a bear market? We would just adjust the crypto prices to match. And hold the crypto for a bull market,” said Nguyen.
He also stated that all of his team was working on NFT.NYC when the stories came out. Hence, there was nobody in the Long Beach location who could give information to the reporters.
Bored & Hungry currently accepts Ethereum and ApeCoin.
